I met Ty in the gym one day and he took a few minutes to educate me on his program. I explained that I am a professional athlete and have had personal trainers in the past and that I have specific training goals and high expectations. He tailors a program exactly for me and has proven his vast knowledge in the training world. I believe that not only am I in incredible shape but my body is working together better which will translate to more success in my sport. He works with me every week and is accommodating to my schedule as well as helping me dial in my nutrition so I can keep progressing outside of the gym. This dude knows what’s up! I also had a sport related knee injury that he has helped me recover from and am feeling like a combination of Bruce lee and Rambo as I’m going into another season!

When I came to Ty in April of 2013, I had been in recovery from an eating disorder for a little over a year. This is a disease I battled for 15 years, the physical damage I had done to my body was intense. My heart was weak from a heart attack I suffered at 26, I was in early stages of osteoporosis and was still severely underweight.
As I started to train with Ty, I noticed how training changed my mindset and how for the first time in years I felt comfortable in my own skin. Working with Ty on my nutritional program, helped me with my relationship with food. I no longer feared food as a negative, I saw it as a necessity to nourish and fuel my body.
I wanted to create a goal for myself, of being healthy and strong enough to compete in a fitness competition. Since April Ty helped me gained 25 pounds of muscle and healthy fat.
In early October I placed 3rd in Novice and 4th in Open for bikini at the GNC Natural. In 6 months I had put on weight, became healthy and happy.
As someone who struggled with an eating disorder, I feel like we hear so much about weight loss, that we never hear the other end, due to the secrecy of the disease and lack of understanding.
With weight training, nutritional plans and the moral and emotional support from Ty, I have not only transformed my body but my life.
Let me first say, if you are looking to get in great shape, build lean muscle, gain functional strength and stability, develop better eating habits, or just be a healthier version of you in general, Ty Sonaty is your go-to personal trainer. And, most importantly, he will show you the RIGHT way to do it all. There are so many trainers out there who think they are teaching people the right habits and movements, and unfortunately many of them are actually harming their clients in the long term. I have been training with Ty for the past 5 months or so and have achieved nothing short of incredible results. I came into his program at about 188 lbs. and 15% body fat and am now 160 lbs. and 8% body fat. I am in the best shape of my life and attribute it largely to Ty’s focus on functional fitness, stability techniques, and the promotion and implementation of proper nutrition.
I should mention too, that I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in the summer of 2015. I had always liked to maintain some level of exercise and fitness but was unsure what I would be capable of doing throughout my chemo treatments. After talking with Ty, he assured me that we would take things slow and make sure that I wasn’t over-exerting myself. And while I had already researched cancer-fighting diets and was changing the way I was eating to aid in my recovery, Ty offered suggestions and even provided a meal plan to help me stay on track. He was true to his word and eased me along in the process and now I am able to perform any task/movement he assigns me.
And just 5 short months after my diagnosis, I am happy to say that I am currently cancer free and am in full remission as of about a month ago. And I attribute that in large part to what Ty and I have worked on throughout the course of everything. I could never thank him enough for being an integral part of not only my body and general health transformation, but also for helping me to put cancer in the rear view mirror for the time being.
